Senior Researcher & Strategist Irish Malig Joins the Carbon Team
“Irish is a terrific addition to our team,” says Linda Wagner, Carbon’s Director of Research & Strategy. “She demonstrates a deep curiosity for understanding people, and she’s passionate about applying that understanding to solving problems for users and brands.”
“Carbon’s strong mix of engineering and design makes it an awesome place to see how design research and strategy can help deliver delightful user experiences,” says Malig. With a proven talent for understanding how patients experience medical care, her expertise will be particularly beneficial to Carbon’s medical device clients.
Before joining Carbon, Irish facilitated design research and development projects at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. There she was a Design Research & Development Specialist in the Department of Strategic Planning and Innovation. While at Sloan-Kettering, Malig helped reimagine the patient experience in order to build an alternative delivery care model for a satellite chemotherapy infusion center in downtown Brooklyn.
Malig has also worked at Parsons The New School for Design, where she was the primary project manager for three unique and successful interdisciplinary programs that enrolled more than 1000 students and employed over 131 faculty members annually. She has strong ties to the IIT Institute of Design and has a Master of Science in Organizational Change Management from Milano The New School for Management and Urban Policy. She earned her Bachelor’s of Science in Physics from Evergreen State College.
